Perfect Day at CocoCay: when your ship stops here

Royal Caribbean's own island: the free pool and beaches, the 135 foot slide and the balloon, the adults only end, and what your SeaPass card does there.

Facts checked Nov 4, 2026, each with its source. No prices on this page.

Perfect Day at CocoCay is Royal Caribbean's own island in the Bahamas: Little Stirrup Cay, one of the Berry Islands, about 55 miles (89 km) north of Nassau and less than a mile long. It was rebuilt and renamed Perfect Day at CocoCay in 2019. Ships tie up at a pier on the north side, so there are no tender boats, and the walk down the pier from the ship to the Arrivals Plaza takes about 6 minutes. Entry is free for the ship's guests, most of the island is free, and a few areas sell their own pass.

Top 3 things to do

  1. 1. Oasis Lagoon, Chill Island and the beaches, all included

Oasis Lagoon is a freshwater pool with a sloping entry for children, a swim-up bar and three swim-up islands; Royal Caribbean calls it the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean. Chill Island has the powdery sand, cabanas and the Chill Grill, a free beachside barbecue. South Beach has volleyball, basketball and kayaks; Harbor Beach is shallow, with a fountain in the middle, for families. Beach chairs, umbrellas, towels from the ship, lockers, showers, five places to eat and Splashaway Bay, the children's water play park, are all included.

Tip: From the Arrivals Plaza it is about 8 minutes on foot to Oasis Lagoon, 5 to 10 to Chill Island and 10 to South Beach. The Island Tram runs all day from the Arrivals Plaza, next to Thrill Waterpark, and stops about every 15 minutes at South Beach, Oasis Lagoon and Breezy Bay at Chill Island.

  2. 2. Thrill Waterpark and Daredevil's Peak, or the balloon

Thrill Waterpark has 14 waterslides, one of the Caribbean's biggest wave pools and an Adventure Pool with floating lily pads and a rock wall. Daredevil's Peak is 135 feet tall; Royal Caribbean calls it the tallest waterslide in the Caribbean, and riders must be at least 48 inches tall. The park needs its own pass, and a child under 14 must be with a ticketed guest aged 14 or older. Next to it, the Up, Up and Away helium balloon rises up to 450 feet above land and sea; it is a paid ride too, with the same 48 inch rule.

Tip: The park is about 3 minutes from the Arrivals Plaza. Royal Caribbean sells its pass before the cruise on My Royal Cruise or on the island; book ahead if it matters to you.

  3. 3. Hideaway Beach, the adults only end

Hideaway Beach is for guests 18 and older, with its own day pass. It has Hideaway Pool, a heated infinity-edge pool, the two level Hideaway Bar you swim up to, a DJ, two beach bars, more than an acre of beach and water, and 20 cabanas. Royal Caribbean announced it in September 2023 for an opening in January 2024, and sells its pass today.

Tip: It is about 7 minutes on foot from the Arrivals Plaza, and a separate tram serves it. Anyone, anywhere on the island, must be 21 or older to buy or drink alcohol.

What to skip

  • Know this: your SeaPass card runs the island

You need your SeaPass card to leave the ship, to get back on, to enter the paid areas and to pay for anything on the island; at the island market, charges go to the card until 2:30 in the afternoon, and cash in US dollars is always taken. You may bring drinks from the ship, but no glass bottles. Snorkel gear is rented at the Snorkel Shack on Chill Beach, or bring your own; full face masks are not stocked. Lifeguards watch every pool and slide, and there are first aid posts in Thrill Waterpark and on Chill Island.

Before you go ashore

You do not have to book a tour: you are free to go ashore on your own. Royal Caribbean sets the all aboard time about 30 minutes before the ship sails, posts it near the gangway, and says the ship does not wait for guests touring on their own.
