Facts checked Nov 6, 2026, each with its source. No prices on this page.
Olden is a village of 522 people (2024) at the mouth of the Oldeelva river, on the southern shore of the Nordfjord in western Norway. Our sources do not say how the ship lands or how far the pier is from the village, so check the ship's daily information.

Top 3 things to do
1. Briksdalsbreen glacier
A small arm of the Jostedalsbreen glacier, about 25 km (16 miles) south of Olden at the end of the Oldedalen valley. A cruise port guide calls it a popular hiking destination.
Tip: It is 25 km away, so most people go on a tour or by taxi. Ask how long the round trip takes before you book.

2. The two Olden churches
Old Olden Church was built in 1759 and the newer Olden Church in 1934, both in the village.
Tip: Our sources give no opening hours, so they are a look from outside unless you check.

3. The Nordfjord from the water
The village sits on the southern shore of the Nordfjord. Loen, another village, is about 6 km (3.7 miles) northeast of Olden.
Tip: Our sources give no walking routes, so ask at the pier for a short walk.

What to skip
Expecting a town
Olden has about 500 people, and the main sight is 25 km away. If you do not book a tour or a ride to the glacier, there is little in the village itself to fill a day.

Before you go ashore
You do not have to book a tour: you are free to go ashore on your own. Royal Caribbean sets the all aboard time about 30 minutes before the ship sails, posts it near the gangway, and says the ship does not wait for guests touring on their own.
