Which Sailing Months Are Getting Cheaper on Royal Caribbean? Six Weeks of Fares

Over six weeks, more cruises got cheaper than dearer in every month. The cruises leaving soonest fell the most, and fares for next autumn hardly moved.

Since 11 September, 53% of Royal Caribbean cruises got cheaper and 35% got dearer. The biggest fall was for cruises leaving in November 2026: a median 5.5%, or $37 per person. Nearly half of the cruises leaving in October 2027 did not move at all.

Every number comes from our own price data. We capture every fare every night, and for 1,833 cruises we compared the lowest interior fare per person, taxes and port fees included, on 11 September 2026 with 22 October 2026, which is about six weeks. We sorted the cruises by the month they leave. The box at the bottom says exactly how. This is what Royal Caribbean is asking, not what anyone paid.

Month by month

The table gives, for each month a cruise leaves, the share of cruises whose fare was lower, higher or the same on 22 October than on 11 September, and the middle change.

Lowest interior fare per person, taxes and port fees included, 11 September 2026 against 22 October 2026. Cruises with a fare on both days.

The soonest cruises fell the most

November 2026 was the clear leader, with 59% of cruises cheaper and a middle fall of 5.5%. January 2027 was next at 4.3%. July 2027 had the biggest share of falls, 66%, though the middle cruise only fell 3.2%. The picture is not a straight line from near to far: December 2026, March 2027 and May 2027 fell by less than 2% in the middle.

Next autumn moved least

At the far end, fares did not move much. 46% of October 2027 cruises had exactly the same fare as six weeks earlier, and so did 37% of September 2027 and 20% of August 2027. We cannot say why from fares alone. Our post on how often fares drop found the same thing: fares closer to sailing move more.

How big the drop was, for cruises whose fare fell, by month the cruise leaves

Each bar runs from the 25th to the 75th percentile of the drop among cruises that got cheaper, so it shows how big a typical drop was. Cruises that did not fall are not in it. 11 September 2026 to 22 October 2026.

The five biggest drops in dollars

A median hides the big moves. These five cruises lost the most in dollars between 11 September and 22 October.

The same period had rises too. The biggest was Odyssey of the Seas, leaving 25 April 2027, from $1,301 to $2,650.

What to do with this

Fares near the front of the calendar are the ones that are moving, and over these six weeks they mostly moved down. If you are looking at a cruise in the next few months, watch it. If you are looking at next autumn, a fare that has not moved in six weeks is probably not going to move this week either. Read does booking early save money for the other side of the story: the cruises closest to sailing are the cheapest, and also the ones that move most.

What this does not tell you

  • Two nights only. A fare that fell and then came back is counted by where it ended.
  • A fare that fell may rise again, and a fare that rose may fall. Six weeks is a short time, and we cannot say what happens next.
  • It is the lowest interior cabin. A balcony or suite can follow a different path.
  • Cruises that left or were taken off sale between the two dates are not in the comparison.
  • This is one comparison, 11 September against 22 October 2026. Nothing here is a quote.

Sailings with no fare

40 cruises in the 1 November 2026 to 31 October 2027 window had no interior fare on 22 October. They are shown as unpriced on the site, never estimated, and left out of every figure here. We also left out 15 priced cruises on Hero of the Seas, which has not entered service yet, 182 cruise-and-land-tour packages, because a tour fare covers days on land, and 13 cruises of 2 nights.

How we measured this

Data date: 22 October 2026 (the capture ran on the evening of Wednesday 21 October, Pacific time; our records date it 22 October). Source: the legtolegcruises.com price history, the nightly capture of Royal Caribbean fares. We took every Royal Caribbean cruise of 3 nights or more leaving 1 November 2026 to 31 October 2027 that had an interior fare both on 11 September 2026, our first capture in this set, and on 22 October (1,833 cruises, Hero of the Seas left out; the gap is 41 days, a little under six weeks). The fare is the lowest interior fare per person, taxes and port fees included. A fare "fell" if it was more than 50 cents lower on 22 October than on 11 September, "rose" if it was more than 50 cents higher, and "did not change" otherwise. The change is the 22 October fare divided by the 11 September fare, minus one; "dollars" is the 22 October fare minus the 11 September fare. Middles are medians. In the chart, the bar runs from the 25th to the 75th percentile of the drop among cruises whose fare fell, so it shows how big a typical drop was, not how many cruises dropped. Months are the month the cruise leaves. We compare only two nights, so a fare that fell and then came back, or rose and then fell, is counted by where it ended. We have no capture for 12 September. We do not know what fare any traveller was shown or paid. Fares move daily.
