Booking Your Next Cruise on Board: NextCruise and a Second Leg

NextCruise gives savings when you book a future cruise. Here is what the line says about the deposit, changing your booking and casino offers, and how it fits a second leg.

NextCruise is Royal Caribbean’s offer for booking a future cruise, with up to $300 in extra savings on top of almost any other offer. Its pages are written for a cruise you book after you sail. They do not mention back-to-backs. If you book a second leg this way, read the rules below first, because a casino offer changes what you get.

Plain-words background from Royal Caribbean’s NextCruise answers, read on 11 October 2026. Offers, savings and rules change, so check them on your own booking.

What the line says

  • Savings. Up to $300 more, on top of almost any other Royal Caribbean offer for the sailing.
  • Not every fare. Some discounted fare types do not qualify, including Interline, Net, and Travel Advisor Friends and Family rates.
  • Two ways to book. Book Now, or Book Later, where you hold a reservation and choose the ship and sail date afterwards.
  • Deposit. $200 for each room, for Balcony and below, however many guests share it. Suites and groups follow the standard booking rules. All NextCruise deposits are non-refundable.
  • Changes. You have up to two months from the day the booking or reservation was created to change the ship and sail date without a change fee. For Book Later, the two months count from when the reservation was created, not when you choose a ship. The fare is updated to the price on the day you change.

With a casino offer

If you use a casino offer on a NextCruise booking, the line says you get onboard credit of up to $100 instead of the NextCruise instant savings. Other benefits, such as a room type upgrade or FreePlay, depend on your award level. To use both, make a Book Later reservation during your current sailing, then contact the casino team within 30 days of receiving your Instant Reward Certificate. For the rules on casino offers themselves, see Club Royale explained and how to read an offer.

Does it fit a second leg?

The pages talk about a future cruise booked from a current one. They do not say whether the new booking can be for the very next sailing, or whether a leg that starts the day you arrive qualifies. Our reading is that it might not, so ask before relying on it. What the pages do tell you:

  • The $200 deposit is non-refundable. A second leg you are not sure about is a cost you may not get back. See cancelling one leg.
  • The two-month change window is short. Check it against the time to the sail date.
  • If a casino offer covers the leg, the credit replaces the instant savings. Work out which suits you before you book. The stacking example shows how offers add up.

Plan for it

  1. Find both legs first with legtolegcruises.com.
  2. Ask Royal Caribbean or your travel partner whether NextCruise can be used for the sailing that follows yours.
  3. If you have a casino offer, ask which one gives you more for that booking.
  4. Write down the date two months after booking, the last day to change without a fee.
