Why Hong Kong works for a back-to-back
- Itineraries run to Vietnam, the Philippines, Japan, and Taiwan, and consecutive weeks frequently go different directions.
- The winter season is the window. Ships reposition away for the northern summer, so chains here are seasonal.
- Hong Kong itself is worth days at either end, which suits the longer trip a back-to-back implies.
Turnaround day at Hong Kong
Turnaround uses Hong Kong immigration procedures. Depending on the sailing you may use the Kai Tak terminal or Ocean Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui, so check both legs.
Getting there
Check visas for every country on both itineraries. Kai Tak is further from the city than Ocean Terminal, which matters if you plan to go ashore on turnaround day.
