What this video covers

A two week cruise from Port Canaveral costs about 4,300 dollars a person in July and about 3,000 in September, the peak of hurricane season. This video counts down seven things to know. The season runs from June 1 to November 30, but the busy part is mid August to mid October, peaking around September 10. Ships move with the seasons: seven ships spend the summer in Europe and cross back in the autumn, and one of those crossings, Mariner of the Seas from Barcelona to New Orleans, is the cheapest night on the site for 2027. Travel insurance usually stops covering a storm once it has a name, so buy early, and make sure the policy covers both legs.

Your ports can change while the cruise still sails, as a real Navigator of the Seas cruise from Los Angeles showed. A ship is about twice as fast as an average hurricane, so it can get out of the way, but a port cannot. When the Coast Guard closes a home port it can hit turnaround day, the one day a back-to-back depends on, so do not book a tight flight home in the busy months. And the price: on the same ship and route, September is typically about 29 percent cheaper per night than July, but January is the cheapest month of all. The price follows the school year more than the storms.

Prices and counts in the video are from the day it was made, Oct 8, 2026. The finder always shows today's.
