What this video covers
This video gives ten things most people do not know about cruise ships. Six come from public sources: a Senate report, the health service that inspects ships, ship trackers and trade sites. Four come from the site's own prices for almost 3,000 sailings. Prices are the middle price for one night, for two guests sharing the cheapest room, an inside room, with taxes and port fees in.
The ten are: which port you leave from, what a ship weighs (the number on the spec sheet is really about volume), the cheapest month, and why some cruises have a stop in a foreign port. Then comes how a ship outruns a hurricane, where the fresh water comes from, why longer cruises have cheaper nights, whose flag the ship flies, how the health inspection score works, and the other port. Our own figures are as of 13 October 2026. The video closes by asking which one surprised you, so tell us in the comments.
Prices and counts in the video are from the day it was made, Oct 16, 2026. The finder always shows today's.
