Back-to-back checklist

Before you book

• I picked a home port I can reach easily.
• I looked at two ships and compared the price per night.
• I checked the weeks on either side of my dates.
• Leg two leaves the day leg one ends, from the same port.

When you book each leg

• Every leg is its own booking.
• I asked for the same cabin on every leg.
• If I use casino offers, there is one on each leg, and the bill shows it.
• I asked Royal Caribbean about the day the legs meet before I put an offer on both.

Money that stops at turnaround day

• Drink package: I know what each leg covers.
• Onboard credit: I will spend it before 10:00 PM on the last night of the leg.
• Gratuities: I decided how to handle them on each leg.

Before you sail

• Passports or birth certificates, as the rules for my trip require.
• One bottle of wine or champagne per guest of drinking age for each leg, packed or stored.
• The letter in my cabin the night before: I read where and when to meet.
• Laundry and a small bag for turnaround day.
