What this video covers
Two people book fourteen nights out of Miami: the same port, the same autumn, the same number of nights. One of them pays less than half what the other pays. Neither got a special deal. This video explains the three things that move the price of a back-to-back cruise, and why the one most people reach for first is the weakest.
The first is the ship. On the same nights from the same port, the newest and largest ship costs more than double an older one. The second is the week. Keep the ship the same and move only the date, and across six weeks of one autumn the most expensive departure costs about a third more than the cheapest. The third is length. A longer trip costs more in total, but usually less per night. A 33 night run out of Seattle, a week in Alaska and then a crossing all the way to Australia on one ship, costs less per night than two weeks in the Caribbean on the newest ship, because sea days are cheap to sell. One catch: staying on the same ship is not the same as keeping the same cabin, so ask for that when you book. The video ends by showing how the site lines up every back-to-back from a home port, so you can sort them by cost per night.
